Super Grip II was launched a few years into the new millennium. The operator experience with a Super Grip II is the same as with the classic Super Grip – geometry and tip forces are alike. However, Super Grip II has a modern frame with clearly less welding; the fewer welds completed, the fewer possibilities for related fatigue.
SuperGrip II also has one solid cast iron linkage arm in place of two welded hollow tube types, and steel bushings instead of composite bushings. This is to cope with the higher surface pressure from using only one linkage arm.
Super Grip II models are enhanced to offer slightly less weight than its earlier cousins. For example, the newer SuperGrip II 420S model weighs the same as the popular SuperGrip 360S specified from factory on most forwarders, however offers greater gripping capacity.
